Carchelo
Sierva Jumilla
Shiny, evenly concentrated blue black with a large, dense core and a thin violet rim. Complex nose with a medium plus intensity of dried fruits, figs, raisins and currants spiced by clove and brown sugar. Medium body, medium minus acid, medium chalky tannin. A dry wine with medium plus alcohol 13.5%that is well balanced with the other components but does present a threshold sensation of heat. The finish is simple and does not reflect the complexity of the nose. Fresh ripe raspberry and coconut and a hint of bitterness. However given the right charcuterie and cheeses this wine would shine.

Nov 28th, 2014Inexpensive Jumilla from Spain. Another bargain. Shows good wine can be made affordable. Deep red Jumilla grape. Flavorful and lingers. Had it with fettuccine and chicken. I buy it by the case. That good.
