Been a while since I have had a Zin and this was is not an over the top/extracted version. Nicely done, somewhat restrained, but a great nose. It was better on the pop and pour versus getting more air so it has that going for it. Every other bottle of wine I have been drinking seems to want air forever.

The '07 Carlisle Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley is a medium garnet color. On the nose are pure notes of black cherry, chai tea and damp forest floor. The palate is quite silky for a Zin with jammy black fruit and cracked pepper flavors. A vibrant mouthwatering acidity keeps the lingering finish juicy and lively. Perfect with our chargrilled strip steaks.

Very fruit forward, bordering on jammy and too high a level of alcohol for my palate - the alcohol isn't well integrated and you can taste it.
