The oak is quite prominent though not overbearing initially, and subsides gradually to commingle with ripe black fruits, clove, anise, dark chocolate, dried herbs, and slight hint of barnyard. Full body. Savory and lush palate but the fruits feels youthful than the nose suggested. Vivid acidity and still solid tannins. Will continue to get better in the next 5 years also.
This bottle serves a reminder that I need to drink more wines from Portugal, one of my favorite countries to visit.

Jan 13th, 2021Really impressive thru vintage but this bad boy was especially strutting it’s stuff showing plenty of polish & sophistication: soaring black & blue fruit, creamy vanilla, gentle spice & warmth, little cedar & tobacco - plush, finely grained tannins, med bodied, smooth & seamless. Hot diggitty this was nice!

Nov 26th, 2020NS Tasting very nice. Fine blend of flavor, nice so slight bit of butterscotch. A fave from this tasting. Casa de Santar 13 Reserva ~$20.
