Very pleasent Bulgarian blend, strong blackberry bouquet along with vanilla and some herbs. Would buy again.

Saw this Bulgarian Red Blend (45% Cab Sauv, 35% Merlot and 20% Mavrud) on sale and took a flyer. Deep purple color. Blackberry and blueberry fruit, black olives, cocoa and baking spices. Hints of vanilla and oak on the finish. High tannin levels and a bit “hot” for a wine that is almost 8 years beyond its vintage. Needs some time in the decanter. Interesting and better than expected.
