Tenacious Napa Valley Unfiltered Merlot Blend

Last of the blind wines. This made by Mark Herold. Led with Merlot.

Deep ruby red. Toasty nose with dark sweet spices, a bit charred, tight dark red berries, leather, savory, gravel and pepper. Oddly a little Rhône like. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus body. A bit of heat with dark raspberries, quite savory too, gunpowder and some black fruits. Lots of dark gravel in the long finish. Drink till 2022.

Lighter softer Merlot blend that is vibrant, supple with red currant jumping out of the glass and silky tannins taking it down! They did well!!

Soft mouthfeel and nice plum and cherry flavors, nicely integrated and very enjoyable. Tried a 1/2 glass and rewarded greatly.

Great Napa meritage effort, right bank Bordeaux-like. Very nice with intense fruit.
