Cellers de Scala Dei
Cartoixa Priorat Red Blend
Gravel, eucalyptus, blackberry and dried herb aromas. Candied cherry, dried fruit on the palette. Beautiful body, balanced tannins. A delicious find!

Feb 15th, 2020I never had that wow feeling with the reds from Scala Dei.
Also this standard Priorat already shows some fatigue and tertiary notes in the nose. The strange “smell” of tar is really disturbing imho.

My first Priorat ever! Ripe black fruits, spice and floral notes. Dark chocolate, smoked wood and forest floor on the nose and palate. Is it wrong to say it’s like a Spanish Chateauneuf du Pape? This is a great wine and wish I had more than one bottle!

Sep 13th, 2021A gift from Kieran. Blindfolded I’d probably peg this for Southern Rhône. It has that unmistakeable peppery note that Grenache dominated wines have as well as blackberries and thyme.
