Glorious expression of California Pinot Noir….explosive nose of dark plum, cherry, cranberry, strawberry, blueberry, and baking spices. Weightless, lively, balanced, absolute fun to swallow. I enjoy Pinot… but this is another level. Not quite Burgundy, not California, not Willamette….but absolute Socratic Pinot Noir. The meal kinda sucked… but… but this wine almost made it worth the time, reservation, bullshit necessary for decent Covid dining. Bright, lip-smacking, multi-faceted and changing with time in the glass. Smooth, silky, sexy…. Well worth the expense and time in the cellar.
