This is solid. Better than a lot of domestic wines.

The nose has a herbal, grippy blackcurrant fruit and a rich Tobacco leaf smoky note. Palate is drying but full of tar'y black fruit with a richness that lingers.

This is hard to describe but it definitely is different, in a good way! It offered a very different taste to the Rioja we had before it but I enjoyed it almost as much and was really impressed! 0.1 mark taken away as it wasn't an instant hit like the trusty Rioja. £16 from Berry Bros and Rudd, it's not a cheap one but I'm glad I was open to trying this new region!
