Château Clerc Milon
Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend
Loved this. Still very youthful, with iron, dark fruit and végétal notes. Classic in style.

May 30th, 2020Polished fruit & polished furniture, good purity of black Cabernet fruit thought not particularly complex and if anything a bit monolithic. Palate has plenty of acid & tannin but they're not in tune (yet) pop this boy back in the cellar.

Pretty stark contrast between this and the Chateau Carbonnieux drank alongside. Much more regal, linear and mature. On the nose, mature dark fruit, forest floor, cassis, leather. Similar in the mouth. Some tannins with good acid. Needed about 2 hours in a decanter to fully realize potential. A proper and mature Pauillac.

Dec 21st, 2019What a nose ! Black currant of course, but mocha too, almond, strawberry too, earth a bit, game a little bit. What a complex nose. The palate is very consistent with the nose with the same flavours plus a majestic balance. Consistent with the vintage too: not an overwhelming palate, rather a subtile, long palate, than a bodybuilder. Nice long finish with red forest fruits. Good one even considering the vintage. We paired it with a superb 2 and half pound entrecôte and steamed potatoes and turnips —> royal pairing
