Château d'Arsac
Cru Bourgeois Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend
The most red-fruited Margaux I've ever drunk, yes! Elegant, fresh and delicious; this earned it's gold medal in Paris. Wish I had bought more.

Mar 30th, 2021Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (61%) and Merlot (39%). Murky ruby color. Aromas of ripe red and black fruits, violets and forest floor. Blackberry, Black Currant, Black Plum fruit on the palate with hints of mushroom, nutmeg and tobacco. Slight hint of vanilla on the long finish. Mouth watering acidity, medium-plus body and very dry. Tannins have softened and the texture is velvety. Much better with food.

Jan 1st, 2021Nice, young Margaux, plenty of potential here. Needs a little time to open up but after an hour this is very enjoyable. Nose is blackcurrants, oak, vanilla and a little menthol and spice. Early on the palate is fresh and clean but a little savoury however, the fruit and some sweetness evolve as it warms up. Tannins are present but not too drying and on day two they have smoothed out. This is a good value wine, worthy of cellaring, give it five years and probably be at the sweet spot.
