This is a well-crafted wine. Dark, warm chocolate nose. Blackberry, black currant, licorice extract, cedar, cinnamon, nutmeg, fall spices, slate, and cocoa. But that said, it retains its dignity with a big backbone of acidity, low-alcohol, earth driven notes that straddle the line between wood and compost. A mushroom's dream.🍷

This isn't shy, with well-toasted spice, mocha and ripe blueberry aromas and flavors leading the way, followed by singed vanilla, sweet plum and fig pâte de fruit notes and a long, plush finish. Boasts more oomph than zip, though; for fans of the ultramodern style. Drink now through 2017. 5,000 cases made. -
