A cuvee that does not see these shores often. Nose is terrific. Not in an oxidized style at all. Tight, focused and mineral. Some Meyer lemon as well. Very nice. Honey. Flowers. Very Chenin. But a bit closed. Also very mineral. Dense, complex, juicy and explosive. Young and needs a 2-3 hour decant and likely 5-6 years of age. Incredibly long finish. Brilliant balance. Stunning intensity and length.

Very interesting. A teeny bit oxidative the first night, so I reserved judgment until tonight. Admittedly, I have little experience with this appellation’s wine. Nose on night 2 had raw honey, bruised pear, clover, and wet chalky soil. Any hint of oxidation gone. In the mouth, very full, with flavors of dark minerality and pear skin. Long and intense finish.
