Birth year bottle to celebrate my 40th. This was a bit more advanced than I had hoped. Still drinking ok and had glimpses of greatness, but little remaining fruit and clearly on the decline.

Tasted blind. Tawny color, lighter and a bit more transparent than the 82. Nice nose. Not as fruity. Notes of Dark cherry, wood, spice and dried brush. Medicinal. In the mouth it's well balanced. A bit dry tho. Needed air to show its best.

Tawny red with amber rims. Nice old wine nose with notes that include black currant berry fruit and some wood. Lots of fruit in the nose with well integrated tannins. Got more herbal with air. Nice showing.
