Lalande de Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend

Nose very nice with plumbs, currants and earth. Palate with red and black cherry, earth, but perhaps lacking a bit of fruit and depth. Medium tannins and finish. Buy the '15 for a few bucks more.

Part of a lineup of 10 european wines my wife arranged for a birthday tasting with a number of friends.

Flavors come alive with a ribeye

Nose of black fruits and some earth and pepper notes. Dark flavors of blackberry and some tar and plums are a bit muted, but will likely improve with some time in the bottle. Finishes with dark fruits and dusty tannins.

3/20/8/4/4 +50=89 pts.
Will likely improve a couple of points with age to the 90-91 range. Not on the same level as the 2009.

A red blend from the right bank of Bordeaux, a value style (Lalande) out of pomerol. 84% Merlot and 16% Cabernet Franc offer medium structure, with some sourness of the red cherry and plums, some black coffee notes and dry leaves are part of showing its time already. Casual drinking will be the best to have it for.

Brownish in color, red fruit nose, red fruit really shows on the palette after letting it breath a little. Beware of fines
