Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend

Excellent structure, rich fruit, very lively for its age. Nicely integrated. Aromas of pencil lead, dark fruit and coffee grounds. Drank w AK when GrandEl was in town.

3 hrs in the decanter. Pencil shavings, earth, leather, cool cassis notes. Medium body, good freshness, the initial poopy notes dissipate slowly. Rustic tannines, classically built, very good.

Even better on day 3!! Saved half a bottle in the fridge. Tannines have softened, fruit is more prominent and darker in aspect. Up 1 point.

A 2002 drinking well always a little Brett with this chateau but it gives the wine muscle

2002 in a wonderful place

Smooth finish not as good as the Barton.

Mooie bordeaux,lekkere aroma van t'putteke,maar na 14j nog steeds frisheid en zachte rijpe tanines ,een echte Grand Cru Classe

A poor vintage and it shows bought this for a vertical. Brown tinge. A big wine - tealeaves leather, cedar notes, blackberry pie. Dirt. Too much tannins at this stage. Remarkable what they coaxed out of the grapes.
