We had the 2005 Vintage on 7/1-2/23. A good Old World wine. The tannins were all smoothed out. Tastes of black cherry, leather and tobacco. Nice spice on the finish. It was nice to have the red and white from the same Chateau on consecutive nights

Red current, cassis, pencil shavings, and licorice root. A little juicier than the bottle I had in 2019. 2005 has probably plateaued. But is likely good for another 10-15 years.

Kind of disappointed. Hollow mid palate. Cassis, cedar, pencil lead. Persistent finish.

Delicious and filled with tobacco and leather. Not much fruit. But would pair beautifully with fatty meat.

Red currant and stewed plum with a healthy dose of licorice root. Very well rounded with a full mouth feel. A little light on structure. Pays to try modest Bordeaux from the best years to see what they can do when everything goes right.

A good entry level wine from a very good vintage. Won't show serious complexity from the bottle age, but delivers red currant & plums with woody tannins and some oaky accents. Perfect with a steak.
