2010 vintage. ch. Kalpak. Bordeaux blend from Tekirdag in Turkey. From Jay. Very 'Napa' style. Fruit forward and a little hot. Dark fruits on the nose. Black cherries, blackberries, menthol, cloves, nutmeg and a touch of cinnamon. Consistent on the palate. Well balanced with good acidity and well put together tannic structure although a little on the soft side. Finishes off well with good length. Great combo with braised meats although I had it with turbot which was not a good pairing. I had very managed expectations but quite surprised by the quality. Drink now to 2020.
