Not being overly impressed by this (89 pts initially) I kept the partial bottle in my fridge thinking a red wine reduction would be its final destiny.
Taking a sip before letting it meet the sauce pan 4 days later this has surprisingly turned around and is now showing the supple, sweet and feminine characteristics of Merlot that I was missing earlier.
New rating = 90+

Opened a little soft. Needs tannins to hold it up in its youth. Lack of acidity with age hurts. With time the grip of tannins is kicking in. Yes suave oak but hey I like it. Also $20 at auction this is a steal.

1999 vintage. Ripe, plummy, inky , juicy, modern. Smores in a glass. Really enjoyable. Too many good Bordeaux from this time frame and price re buy this.

Mooie neus van overrijp zwart fruit m'n pruimen ,cassis en zwarte kersen.
Luxe hout gebruik. Wel indrogend in de finisch. Deze 99 er gaat er niet beter op worden, mist balans
