Tasted blind. Dark red color. Fruit-forward nose with notes of black currants, violets, herbs, pipe tobacco, minerals and gravel and soil. Some menthol comes on later, as does a little brett thing (but only slightly). Rich and massive in the mouth. Flamboyant and powerful. Seems like it's fortified, as it really packs a wallop. Pretty awesome to put this up side by side with the 61 HB and compare. Both are all time greats, with the 61 HB a little better tonight given the slight bretty note that hangs around in the La Mish. (M's 60th bday 10th of 14)

A great wine that stands the time and evolves like a mastepiece. Aromas and palate are a perfectly mature pessac but on a table was outshown by wines that cost maybe 1/40 of the price
