Incredibly ripe (14.5abv), missing some of the structure and restrained elegance of classic Bordeaux. What a difference a vintage makes.

Charming Bordeaux blend with 75% merlot and the remainder cab franc. Lower acidity but pleasant structures and earthiness from the dried herbs of the franc.

Beguiling nose upon open- reminiscent of 19th century general store candy counter. Violets, teaberry,strawberries & molasses with undertones of cedar, charred wood and vintage hawsers. Foresty on the palate with ripe berries and cedar. Long finish. Needs time to bleed off the tannins, likely a solid wine over the next 2-3 years.

Medium texture and balance with earthy notes, soft tannins and really easy to drink. After decanting for an hour this wine disappeared in no time. 91+
