There is tiny touch of bell pepper on the nose which is slightly unnerving but there is black currant too, an oaky note, almost a meaty juice thing too. The palate is well made with a strong acid backbone, a good nice radiant black currant all along, a good width, a bit of matter on the sides, a soft, silky mouthfeel which hives way to gentle tannins in mid palate with a significant drying effect. The finish is blackcurrant and a pinch of salt for quick some time. The nose makes it underwhelming somehow and this not the best of vintages. I'm a bit disappointed, I was expecting more

Mar 19th, 2021With about 10% of my olfactive capacities I can say it smells like black currant, a bit of tar, some other red and black berries. Quite nice. The palate is a bit thiner than expected but it might be a vintage thing. Great acid frame, black currant rolling all along, some nice velvety touch on the sides, gentle tannins and a finish made of fruit. Cool, pleasant but not great

Second Label from Lagrange. 61% cab sav, 30% merlot, 9% petit verdot. Dark cherry and raspberry, caramel, toffee and vanilla. Mildly spiced caramel cigar finish (think montecristo), well integrated. It's an elegant and smooth wine. It’s apparently made to enjoy now and can be cellared. As a side note, the Chateaux itself is quite stunning and worth a visit.
