Opened without proper aeration and after way too many bottles consumed before it. With the little time it did have, it really hit the mark, and didn’t really show much progression from LBT. Delicious, somewhat stern, and would absolutely crush it with the right food. Turned leaves, leather, crushed currants, wet stones and sous bois, this was gorgeous on the last sip. The acid is fresh and structurally the tannin have a taut and graininess to them. Really adds to the mineral dimension this wine has.

Nose has fun layers to it. Cedar, forest, graphite, wet leather, some wet tobacco/balsamic tones starting to show, a little kiss of age. Fruit is a little subdued. Cassis and plum, some bramble. Almost a dried component to the fruit. Sweet spices and very subtle oak on the nose. The wine is upfront on the palate with loads of fruit, coffee and sweet oak notes that leads into minerals and tannins. Tannins are high and seem that they are starting to integrate. Theres still some grip there. 375 ml

A bit more acidic than I expected form 2006. Great complex nose though
