Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend

Surprisingly youthful for 1964 and showing very beautiful, ripe, opulent, and sexy with just a little bricking and tertiary character. We tasted blind and thought it was from the late 80s.

Holy. Shit. Parchment, olives, leather, cellar, hints of fruit, soy, rubber, fuel, utterly amazing and special experience.

En magnum. Amazing longevity... Still vibrant with crazy graphite, dried flowers and earth.

Still so young and good fruit. Great balance and earthy notes. Good acidity. So smooth and balanced.

Long balanced play of flavor. Warm black currant compote & candied fig. Hint of roasted parsnips dusted with mild Himalayan salt.

Only word I can think of is...EPIC

Had a chance to try this 1964 vintage, was velvet on the palate. Now I just need to try the four other first growths to compare...
