1987 wasn't a very good vintage, but luckily it felt like we were catching this bottle at or just after it's peak. Beautifully balanced all around with a streak of freshness. Decanted but to let the bottle get some air and drank it right after. Felt like we did the right thing here by not waiting much.

A superb Bordeaux that was perfect for my 50th bday. Cassis and currants , elegant and powerful at the same time, slight hint of bell pepper from the cab franc and some Brett notes that I don’t mind at all!
