Most striking about the Le Gay was the nose, full of dark fruit and cedar. Heavy blueberry cassis on the palate, soft tannins that made for a very lush, silky drink. It changed quite a bit over the course of 2+ hours, tannins softening continually and the nose blossoming with secondary notes. The finish a tad disappointing as not quite long enough to satisfy our expectations. Overall very good, but a tad shy of great.
