Always love Malescot and always love Margaux, but this is a microcosm of the '13 vintage. Lighter than most (medium bodied at best) with a pretty perfume of black berries, cranberry, and a touch of woodsmoke. Palate is really smooth and enjoyable, but lean and a bit one dimensional. Not bad, but definitely tell-tale of the '13 vintage on the left bank. Having said that - not all '13's are bad, just not always worth the price. Hunt down the '12 of this bottle instead.

Mar 13th, 20172013 vintage was not quite their best expression. Red fruit, floral, earthy and minerally. Blossom and chocolate. Quite tannic but disappears quickly. A bit abrupt on the taste. Caramel and twiggy. Sometimes tastes like the butter in a mashed potatoes.
