Gaston Hochar Grand Cru Red Blend

Still standing firm and resolute. Great wine, great vintage. Throwing a lot of sediment. Potpourri of dried red fruits and herbs.

Aromatic and expressive right out of the gate. Smoky, sanguine nose with elegance and soft velvety texture. Drinking really well now.

Proper mature old world red. Bricked reddy brown colour, evolved well into secondary aromas of damp leaves and stewed fruits. Long length and an exotic and spicey element that marks it as different from claret.

A good one! If you can handle some va, this will work. Rich but lifted by the acidity. When they’re on, they are such unique wines.

Here’s a new one: when I touched the cork with end of the Durand corkscrew, the cork slipped completely down into the wine. The wine itself was totally blasted.

Nice red cherry, berry fruit, boatloads of spices, leather, floral with a stylistic mixture of Burgundy & Bordeaux

Tart red berry fruits with some earthy funk showing notes of cinnamon, cardamon, menthol spices & fresh cut flowers.

Interesting vintage that was floral with tart red cherry, berry fruit, funky with licorice, cardamon, cinnamon spices, rose petal & tobacco

Opened nicely went flat quickly
