Château Palmer
Alter Ego Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend
Beautiful wine. Not too showy but exquisite balance and a long pleasant finish.

Oct 12th, 2018My first bottle of eight. It’s early but with seven more bottles, I took advantage of my curiosity. A stunning vintage and perhaps their best Alter Ego. Beautiful nose of fresh floral mid and dark red fruits with excellent silky mouthfeel. Two hour decant. I would wait another five years to check on my next bottle. Hedy’s 4th and main course, Lamb - Rack, Shank, Lavender, Cumin, Coriander and a tiny bit of Mint w/ Honey, Butter Beans, Baby Vegetable. Excellent preparation. The 09 Alter Ego did it justice. @PlateAndBottle

May 13th, 2018Sleek and endowed. Voluminous and pure nose, rich black fruit with subtle charcoal and pipe tobacco notes. Plush mouthfeel, with vivid minerality on the finish.

3 people found it helpfulJan 1st, 20152nd wine of Palmer in a top year @ £45, now £65+ Drinking lovely but still has 10 yrs+ life 👍
Excellent QPR - 92-94 but rounded up as will improve 😉
🍇 52% Merlot & 48% Cab Sav
🍷Deep ruby red
👃 Juicy plump blackcurrant & dark plum through soft smokey oak, mocha, soggy earth, leather & minerals
👄 Med+ body of ripe rich blackcurrant & dark plum w/ an earthy mocha undertone
🎯 Med+ mocha blackcurrant liquorish touch dry finale
One of the best 2nd wines going 😎

Disappointing. Hot and chewy, mineral/iron overpowering.

Really cool wine. Expressing dark fruits and soft tannins yet still showing that classic Bordeaux minerality and earth character. Tasted over 2 hours. Showed much more secondaries with time
