1974. I'm not really one to get into the messy business of rating Mayacamas wines on here, but occasionally there's one like this that is a true rarity worth documenting. Thanks to @Matthew Beckman for bringing this to dinner last night. Nose transported me instantly to the 1985 Raymond Lafon Sauternes that we poured BTG aT Per Se for years. Super classic, spicy, bergamot and neroli tones. Beeswax, cardamom, green plum, white peach. Nearly dry on the pallet. A wonder of a wine I hope I get to taste again some day... #wow — 11 years ago

At a $20 price range this #grünerveltliner is a steal. Grapefruit, white peach, pear, white pepper, mineral central, hint of vegetal flyovers backed with good amount of orange blossom #wow #austrianwine #qprking #foodfriendly #whitewines — 10 years ago
Honestly one of the first #chateauneuf that has given me a #wow factor. Elegance, depth and aging well. 2008 Rayas — 11 years ago
Delicious. A Bit fruit forward for a red Zin but still delicious and went great with my Rustica Carne Pizza. Well developed and balanced. #turleywinecellars #turley #redzin #redzinfindel #delectable #delectableapp #delicious #yummy #rewines #wines #wow — 11 years ago

My first 18 Brisset and OMG does this already blow away the 17 on first sniff. Smells EASILY like a 1er Cru Chassagne. Just a sick and expansive nose. Haunting. Wet earth, wet stones, high toned lemon and lime fruit and zest. Candied pink grapefruit. Amazingly deep. You need to spend 75+ to get a nose like this. Just sick. Meyer lemon is so accurate and detailed here. Sick deep impactful minerals. #Wow. That’s some serious intensity and flavor impact on the palate. And wow the acidity! Legend. This is insane. What structure and depth. Electric! Like stick your finger in an electric socket electric. And leaves a lemon candy sap on the finish that just lingers forever. Wow, such opulence, density and minerality. This is like so much better than a Bourgogne it’s like the label Bourgogne for this wine is some sort of hipster irony. Genius. — 6 years ago
