A surprising amount of acid. Much better wine than the '10.

Very impressed with its smooth silky drink ability. Core of fruit and leather / smoke but so light and easy. Maybe want a bit more structure and depth but this was a joy to drink and well received - drinking well still

Seems a bit aromaticaly challenged. But the palate is quite expressive with smoked meats, dark berries, plums, and nuanced flowers, licorice, and smoke.

Deep ruby colouring. The nose explodes with herbs, black plum, tobacco and pencil shavings. Massive palette saturated with dark red fruits and herb with larger tannin than expected. Feels a bit of a rouge amongst the left banks. Rounded out after 6+ hours decanting. This could benefit from another 8-10yrs in the cellar but may never be typical.

We both are let down by this one. Although pleasant (thus the 5 rating) the first half of the bottle seems to fall flat - overall a bit dull in the nose and on the tongue, bummer.
