2003 is an interesting Bordeaux vintage, very warm and the wines are concentrated and fruit forward with a shorter life span then normal, this saint Emilion which is based on 70% CF is at its pick and drinking beautifully now.
Ruby brown color, nose of coffee, barnyard, currents, plums, cherries, tea, medium to full body with well integrated round tannins, good acidity and lovely long finish. Well balanced and modern. My score 89+, drink to 2016. Great value at about 40$

Big nose with dark and red fruits, a little anise, and some spice. On the palate, both red and dark fruits, some baking spices, tobacco notes, medium body. Holding up better than some of the 2003 vintage, which was quite hot.
