The intense star anise aroma let me know that this year is going to be pretty different. Much darker fruits on this year, reminds me more of a stewed blackberry. Lighter bodied with a softer mouthfeel. Getting a little slate on the finish of this one too. 2008 outshone this otherwise really nice bottle.

Tasting very nice right now. Would not hold this too much longer if you want to taste the fruit. Nice and smooth, not a lot of tannins. Good with our apps.

Not as round and full as u would expect CC but not a throw away by any stretch if u eat w meal that stands up to the bell pepper acidity
