Founded in 1973 in the Sonoma Valley, CSJ produces a portfolio of wines as well as vineyard designated wines, and the flagship Cinq Cépages Cabernet Sauvignon. Found this ‘11 in my cellar. 100% Pinot Noir, several vineyard blends, red berry aromas and spice. On the palate tart cherry flavors with leather spice. Medium finish, fine tannins, ok, getting tired, drink Now!

Feb 11th, 2018Red violet glass with a translucent red violet rim. On the nose primarily cherry, raspberry and an earthy loamness that provides structure. Strawberry, blackberry, licorice, and vanilla detected on intense aroma evaluation. On the palate, acid bites first with a tangy cherry / berry play and less of the other flavors. Small tight tannins lead to a medium length finish of cherry dryness and peppery cinnamon notes. At $17.98 this is an easy drinking fair value wine that accompanies lighter meat and fish dishes well.
