Very good for a $10 red. Violets and ripe red fruit, nice acidity. Drank alone as a sipper.

Dec 29th, 2020Medium ruby hue. Aromas and flavors of cherry, oak, plum, and strawberry. Medium body; medium tannins; and medium acidity. Fresh and fruity on the nose and palate, with a medium-length finish. An atypical Monastrell/Mourvedre, that is, fruit-forward and relatively soft. Bonus points for QPR.

Sep 27th, 2020Trap me in the Chopo House any time. 100% Monastrell — aka Mourvèdre to you Freedom Fries lovers out there — which is the fifth-most planted grape variety in Spain these days per Jancis Robinson et al (h/t @Brendan Devine). Medium-plus acidity, bright black and purple fruits, downright Montepulciano vibes. Definitely looking like a re-buy next time I cross state lines.

Not as big and bold as other Monastrells from Jumilla. However, nice for the price. Smooth but thin and tart.
