Ancient Vines Contra Costa County Mourvèdre

Leather, meat, basil, oregano, bay leaves, black pepper & white pepper. Elevated minerals. Faint new oak influence. Blueberry and tart red cherry. Medium acidity, medium plus to elevated body, elevated tannins.

Bold. Begins fruity but has a somewhat spicy finish. Interesting variety with every sip.

We had this with some cheese and olives, and chicken or steak with harissa. Was a nice dinner wine.

A little too peppery

Big jammy fruit with some funky chocolate mixed in, but still very easy to drink. Has been a favorite for years- one of the only CA wines I truly enjoy.

What a great surprise… Drank like $100 bottle! Great body and very supple fruit coming through.

Hints of spice and herb on the nose. Subtle mouth feel. Medium+ body. Flavors of stewed plums and dark cherry.

Jammy black fruit, full bodied, very drinkable on its own. Little bit acidic finish. A great deal picked up on sale at $12.
