I'm no connoisseur of Cono Sur--bad pun. ;) I only see Chilean wines from giant Concha y Toro (Cono Sur & Casillero del Diablo). Hesitantly, I dove in hoping for cheap & cheerful, but Bicicleta must have veered into a lake...on opening, it was wet dreck. Aired out, it was "drinkable" and its engineered flavors emerged--peppery, berried, café de olla. Aged 9 months in steel vats (or silos?), 7 of which had wood thrown in. Cono Sur churns out +4 million bottles per year = Factory wine...and not their top seller.

This is a decent table wine, and nicely priced at a few thousand Chilean pesos, maybe $3k CLP. It's not my personal favorite, but Greg really likes it.
