Reserva Rapel Valley Carménère

I really enjoy a nice Carmenere having been introduced to this varietal on business trips to Chile. Typically a great complement to grilled meats, this somewhat young Carmenere (2020 vintage) did not disappoint! Ripe berries but with just a touch of a oeppery finish is a nice pairing with the flank steak, grilled Serranos, roasted sweet potatoes and chimichurri sauce we had for dinner. Not sure how much variety there is between vintages but the 2020 seems like a good one! — 5 months ago

Viña Errazuriz

Don Maximiano Founder's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 1987

Medium garnet ,medium terracotta rim . Quite spiced , dried fruits, tobacco , touch of caramel , warm earth . Smoky . On the palate quite sweet mix of red and dark fruits, red plum , dark cherry , spiced tobacco, hickory . Quite sweet on the finish , menthol hint, with a touch of caramel on the finish, slightly grippy tannin. This improved quite a lot in the glass , with more fruit noticeable , fills out quite well , better balance. Drink now and over the next couple of years. — 3 months ago

Aconcagua Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2018

Super fresh, expressive wine loaded with vibrant dark red cherry and blue berry. Green olive note and limited finish held me back from a higher score. — 24 days ago

@DD Agreed! This took a week to settle in, I thought I was opening it young even after a 6h decant, and I was right. I'm not opening another until at least 2034-39. For real...
