Sherry notes, anise, tannins, tight finish. Curiouser and curiouser.

Nov 25th, 2020Italian. Red. Puglian.
A good wine, but I’ve preferred the other Southern Italian reds I’ve tried. This has strong raspberry notes and went well with my bruschetta and olives. No real complaints, but it’s not memorable and not as complex as some others I’ve tried. I like negroamaro blends better from Puglia. 14.5% alcohol by volume. Aged six months in barrels. Less than $15. Described by winery as raspberry, blackberry, and toast.
