2007, wow what a really pretty wine. Napa for sure but much more elegant than over powering

07' Corra Cabernet Sauvignon. Last time I enjoyed a bottle of this was a few years ago. I opened a bottle for several hours & it never opened up🤑. I was so bummed! Tonight it took some time to open... believe this will taste even better with a couple more years in the bottle. Very much a special bottle this 07'.
I've been fortunate to have had Corra from
2006 through 2011 vintages, so far. This without a doubt will be her biggest cellar dweller. 15+ years in it. I'll be eager to open another bottle in a few years! 94+

I'm not so sure this bottle was given the appropriate time to decant and wake up. It did have ample blackberry with some herbal influence in the middle with some graphite. It just seemed a little bit out of balance. I expected this one to be the Cabernet that the table needed to compete with the Hobbs 2010 Las Piedras. It really didn't do that. Although to me, these two are similar in style, this one just did not have the complexity and was even starting to show some signs of age.

Love Celia Welch's wines! This 07 Corra Cabernet is excellent!
Still a baby with fine tannins, gobs of glycerin, concentration & dark berry fruits.

Corra, a Celtic deity representing prophecy, appears in the form of a crane. As the light of her shadow casts a ray of promise, the experienced hands crafting Corra develop the potential and promise of young winemakers.... Celia Welch, Winemaker
