We tried this exciting Aegian wine at the Miklagard restaurant in Besiktas, Istanbul, and got to take two bottles of 2007 home. Thick dark red color; small red and black berries (some of which are raisinated), pencil shavings, spices, pyrazines, and well-integrated oak profile on the nose; tannis are still there on the palate and build up a powerful structure with the acids and ethanol, and it is almost port-like on the mid palate, and has a long satisfying chest-burning finish. Lamm filé on the grill with a red wine thyme sauce (made from an aussie shiraz). Very nice wine made from 93% Cab. Sauv. and the rest Cab. Franc.; the alcohol is 14.9% and the price about 75$.
