Listen up. If you can get ahold of any of this..do it. What Courtney Benham has done is find an amazing deal on the extra yeild of other producers on Howell Mountain, and craft a wine that is over performing for its price tag. He and Bill Batchelor are getting better and better at it.

Very fragrant nose - notes of lavender, bing cherry, clove, green bell pepper, and cedar.

The pallet showed power and finesse. It exhibited notes of dark cherries, black plums, mocha, vanilla, dried rosemary, nutmeg, and a lingering delicious finish. Tannins were firm, but we'll integrated, coming off velvety. This was a pretty and powerful wine. Did I mention that it is ONLY $40? I think after tasting it, seeing how low the price is, and comparing the price of the average Howell Mt, as well as how many producers are actually growing fruit there, this is a ridiculous wine for its price. What ever deal he struck, with whoever it may have been, he is truly a treasure hunter.
