Cherry tannin tartness. Decent at this price, but no prize. American oak is about the only complexity, maybe a little licorice in the short finish. It was fine, but a little disappointing. Could be better laid down two years to mellow the tannins, but not worth my limited cellar space and time to wait! YMMV :)
