I like Merlots, but this one is incredibly acidic and has no outstanding flavor. It's medium bodied with smokey notes to it, reminds me favorably of ashes

I'm still working my way very slowly to 'maturing' my palette and actually enjoying dry wines, and red wines. I actually really enjoy this. I read some other reviews and really have no idea what makes a wine acidic or tannin-y (yep, I went there) I just know I liked this.
