Le Vin des Amis Syrah

The 2013 Vin des Amis is the most curious vintage I've tasted (tasting since 2008). Bitey, angular, lacking conviction somewhat; violet aromas for sure but a curious porky funk and some barnyard aromas or perhaps greenish cedar-like odors of old wood I don't expect in this wine. Will have to read up on what growing conditions yielded this 12% curio. Unsure how this will evolve.

Still somewhat tight even for the "entry level".

Wine of friends...what better way to drink with my best friend Buster. This wine is cray cray!

Dirt, green olive juice, dark fruit. Ready to drink but not my style.

Distinctly awesome, great texture and freshness.

Certainly emphasizing the greener, poopier side of Cornas fruit. Air opens up some floral notes, but really wished for more fruit.

Solid as always. #clape

Lovely, medium weight with bretty tones and savory dark fruit.
