Very traditional and full of character. Great contrast to the Janasse and CNDP I've had lately. Lots of WC influence, old large oak. Earthy, rustic, still elegant. A core of fruit that is the backdrop for a melange of garrigue herbs, flowers, spices, and savoriness. Smoke, baked rock, and peppercorns throughout. A more cerebral expression of CNDP.

Pretty disappointed with 2012 right now. 11 was so impressive, this lacking complexity and depth. Did not stand out.

Not what I'm usually looking for in a CDP but for what it is - more Italianate cherry and stone fruit flavors, less heat and richness - it's damn good.
