Served blind. I nailed the vintage, even a broken clock is right twice a day. A spectacular nose of smoke, flowers and a dose of reduction. In the mouth, intensity and freshness . Minerals & green fruit that reminded me of Chablis to start but no way given the weightlessness. Waves of crisp fruit with exceptional balance. Most producers would be happy to make a premiere cru or grand cru of this quality. It might be an overused descriptor or cliché, but this was all about pureness. According to my friend purchased on release, and locked away. A reminder of how important proper storage is.

Taken to Selby's in Redwood City. Medium gold color. Heavy in the glass. Killer nose with notes of apricot, petrol, citrus, wet river stone and lots of tan spice. Palate staining in the mouth with a ton of acidity that is balanced against the rich fruit. Can't believe this is a Village wine.

Served late in the evening, as if we needed another bottle... light gold color, distinctive Coche nose with notes of chalk, wet stones, citrus, petrol, some matchstick and some apricot. Very mineral driven. Nose is big, good acidity on the finish, but just a bit light in the mid-palate. Probably needed more air to flesh out. We were all feelin pretty Cochey by the end of this bottle and the evening. Thks Bryan!

2004 Meursault, Coche-Dury--quintessential white Burgundy and a paragon of great Chardonnay--wish I could score a box of this amazing juice!

Balanced, showing development, but with a maintaining acidity, not as fresh as I would have expected it to be though.

Not a thing wrong with this magnum. Big nose tempered by precision on the palate.
