Jun 23rd, 2019I admit it: my first passetoutgrains gamay/ pinot noir burgundy. We were in the cote d’or and the cote des nuits in 2015, tasted a lot of pinot noir, and never heard about the gamay blend. Out of the bottle it was brightly acidic, with an extremely long finish. The long finish continued, but after 30 minutes it opened up with mineral and sour cherry on the palate. The 12 percent alcohol content did not disturb the flavor. As it happened, we were eating steak, and this fit right in.
