Domaine de Cristia
Vieilles Vignes Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhône, Rhône, France

This is an amazing chateauneuf-du-pape. Showing black fruits with earth, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, graphites and vinaigrette.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Very fruity and complex with a great mouthfeel and balance.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and shows some tannins.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
Robert Parker 91 points.
This 2005 vintage was great, and it is really showing. Will be good in the next 5 years, but it is peaking now.
Delicious and yummy with so much complexity.
Aged in concrete vats, and oak barrels, for 18 months.
15% alcohol by volume.
95 points.
$100. ( less than half that, if you buy current vintage)

Takes forever to open. Then it's adequate. I'll pass on a repeat (2005)

Takes forever to open up! Floral notes on the nose. Dark fruit and tar. Tannic mineral finish. I suspect this one is a bit past its prime. #2005
