La Tache somewhere between late 1930s and late 1940s. Label partially ripped and worn away and cork crumbled on extraction. 20% ullage. Ethereal for nearly an hour.

This 70 showing well! Powerful deep still with layers of dried fruit, herbs and earth...pure La Tache!

The real deal. Essentially flawless. Balanced, enormously complex and long, and weightless.

DRC La Tache 1990: explosive nose delivering LT’s kaleidoscope of Asian spices, clove, earth. Deep flavor, everything in balance, velvet fans out on the finish. Simply one of the best wines ever made.

The rating scale goes up to 10 for wines like this. Insanely enchanting nose. Reminded me of smelling a perfectly cooked duck drizzled with pomegranate reduction. More aromatic inspection leads to rose water, hibiscus, subtle dried oak leaves and so many more tiny lovely things. Bright, vibrant but not sharp, this is the definition of great wine. Mind blown!

The nose was beautiful here... roses, cassis and berries... very balanced... at first was clearly ahead of the 95 Rousseau Chambertin. As time went by palate started to thin out...

Honey, I shrunk the Burgundy: the world's smallest bottle of DRC La Tache . Call it a "microboam".
