Founder & President, Northwest Wines Ltd. Established 1985. I only post wines I like.
Attractive, complexing, French quality brettanomyces. Full, optimally ripe, and generous. Quite amazing for a 25 year old 375ml. Perhaps not for everyone but I like it. — a month ago
Pennsylvania Grüner. That’s right, and a very good one at that! Well balanced with pure varietal character and age worthy over several years. — 2 months ago
Contains most all the great attributes of Mosel Riesling Spätlese. Lightness, brightness, and liveliness on its approach to middle age. The 2007s are beautiful now and the best have still more aging potential. — a month ago
This 20 year old 375ml is still in good condition. Ripe black cherries, black plums, and cedar wood shavings. — a month ago
Quite amazing at 20 years, a fresh vibrant Columbia Valley Viognier with nerve, depth, and complex. — a month ago
Lovely at 27 years. Ripe raspberry fruit, exotic spices, and subtle earthy complexity. — 2 months ago
Black Mission Figs, Ginger, Chamomile. Hints of heaven to enjoy now or well-stored, in the future. — a month ago
Gracefully and stylishly aged at 23 years and drinking at its peak, especially on the second day open. — a month ago
On the riper side but still in balance. This is one of the “entry” level Pinots back then. At 21 years it’s still prime drinking but in my opinion should be enjoyed without aging further. — a month ago

Founder Northwest Wines
This RIESLING wine was in a case that experienced a cellar flood, so, a mystery vintage of Alpine Riesling from their estate vineyard in the mid-Willamette Valley, but I’m certain it’s between the late 1980s and very early 1990s due to when acquired. At this time, it has just a trace of the sweetness it must have started out with. Coconut, marzipan, and caramel, with a fine acid backbone and long complex finish. — 9 days ago
